This year's journey...Part One

Dear Hakaryu...allow to meander off the path and ruminate on the past year ...

2004....Hard to believe what a whirlwind of a year it was....it was a good one though rich with creativity and love and joy....as far as milestones it marked my first thirty years in this physical form(my spiritual form is by nature of being an Alkhemyist always changing) and Hakkai and I's fifth anniversary celebrating of course the day we finally realized we had always been and will always be the best of frinds and the most passionate of lovers...

It was a year full of music...I realized my full mastery of Song'keeping by taking on two apprentices one of which is already a second level Song'kheeper...........I embraced a whole new form of music...the vast and narritive sounds of J-POP and anime soundtracks....the great new mainstream bands like the Killers and Billy Talent and so many many more...
Here now are in no paticular order my favorite 20 discoveries of sound for 2004
The Killers-the whole album not a miss on it
Maroon 5- ditto
Billy Talent-ditto ditto
Clay Aiken's debut(but not the Xmas album!)
Big and Rich-whole thing but especially "Wild West Show"
Elton John'-Freaks Like Us
U2's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb-esp Sometimes You Can't Make it ..."
Shinedown-45'

David Lee Murphy's Tryin to Get There
Darren Hayes' Tension and the Spark
Saiyuki Vocal Album's 1 2 and 3
